UK: Notable Border Agency Action

HSP clients in higher education should be aware of a recent UK Border Agency action against London Metropolitan University.

As a result of an audit by UKBA, the University's Tier 4 sponsor license and its status as a "highly trusted" sponsor were revoked.

While this is a single example, the level of scrutiny is indicative of a wider global trend, and we encourage clients to examine their policies and practices regarding immigration, sponsorship and study abroad programs, particularly if those programs involve partner institutions. The reputational risk involved with immigration non-compliance may be significant.

Contact Bob Lammey, Christian Snyder or Jean Latu with questions.
